Ayla Brushing Her Hair

This is my entry to the Literature Scenes Challenge at DreamslayerArtworks.

It's an illustration to the book "The Valley of Horses" by Jean M.Auel, which is the second in the Earth's Children series (the first one being "The Clan of The Cave Bear"). Set in the prehistoric age and the beginning of mankind, it tells the story of Ayla, a woman who was raised by people of the Clan (Neanderthals) although she is one of the Others (people like us). The second book tells about her life after she is forced to leave the Clan and has to manage on her own in this primal world.
